Ingredients of Thavala adai

  1. Prepare of idli rava.
  2. Prepare of moong dal washed and soaked.
  3. It’s of arhar(toor) dal washed and soaked.
  4. Prepare of chana dal washed and soaked.
  5. It’s of urad dal washed and soaked.
  6. Prepare of finely chopped fresh coconut.
  7. Prepare of chopped coriander leaves.

Thavala adai instructions

  1. Soak arhar(tur) dal and chana dal together. Soak other two dal separately. Let them soak for at least 3 hours..
  2. Now grind urad dal, green chillies and ginger as fine paste. Mixture of arhar dal and chana dal a bit coarsely ground..
  3. Keep moong dal aside and grind the remaining to a smooth paste. Mix all the grounded dals..
  4. Now add soaked moong dal, idli rava, coconut, salt and coriander leaves and make a thick batter. Leave this batter aside for 4 hours..
  5. Shape the vadas just like medu vada and deep fry them in hot oil till golden brown..
  6. Serve these crispy, crunchy and nutritional vadas with coconut chutney and tomato ketchup..
